I think this problem was made quite recently, you can download mods manually, and (whilst zipped) place them in your mod organizer downloads folder directly until the problem is fixed. edit: yes as Joseph said, probably has to do with the NMM update. Same is happening for Mod Organizer, states "Download Failed, Server Reported", it is based over several mod pages, I believe it is a server issue.
